How to write a check amount in words

Currency mode writes both parts in full, so $88.52 becomes “Eighty-eight dollars and fifty-two cents.”

For a check, choose Cheque / check. The same amount becomes “Eighty-eight and 52/100 dollars only,” which is the format commonly used on the amount line.
